InfoWatch Device Monitoring

InfoWatch Device Monitor: Blocks all the exit lanes for your valuable information!

To fully protect confidential information, it is necessary to guarantee that it will not be copied to external media or to another computer through a wireless connection. Complex passwords and limited access to the files will not be able to protect your valuable information in the event a trusted employee copies important data to a flash drive and then somehow loses it. How can you solve this problem? By taking into consideration all the possible ways to copy information:

  • Monitor the storage of data on CDs, DVDs, floppy drives, and external hard drives.
  • Monitor the copying of data on storage media connected via a variety of ports — USB LPT, COM, etc.
  • Monitor the use of wireless communications using an infrared port, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
  • View the data your staff is sending to the printer.

The InfoWatch Device Monitor will help you manage all these tasks. This solution will always let you know who is copying information on any type of external media and what kind information is being copied. This solution does not overload the system and operates quietly without inconveniencing the staff. In addition, this work cannot be interrupted, even if the user has administrative rights on the computer.

After installing the InfoWatch Device Monitor agent on all workstations, each employee will receive a certain level of access to work with confidential data. From that moment on, all user actions will be recorded. If an employee tries to perform a prohibited action, his/her access to ports, through which external drives are connected, will be immediately blocked and the administrator will receive a report.

It is important that any good solution provides for the monitoring of users who work remotely. In the event of a suspicious activity the user is immediately banned, and the administrator receives a report as soon as the computer connects to the corporate network.

InfoWatch Device Monitor is operated through a central console. For the separation of users according to their level of access, you can use the Active Directory domain. In addition, you can create your own groups.

While inspecting the operations of copying and printing, the InfoWatch Device Monitor creates shadow copies of files that are transferred to the central server for data analysis and processing. There, the objects are checked for content of confidential information. When verification is completed, data is transmitted to the universal repository — InfoWatch Storage.
